    Tim,

    It would be intresting to see how many people index their cams and crank.

    I attempted but was a bit overwhelmed when I read the manual on how to do it, so I ended up using the factory timing marks.

    Id love to read an illustrated step by step article on that.

    In the smaller TR engines (like a Spitfire or my 1500 Midget race car), you have to. There's really no timing marks.

    Plus my engine has a ton of seemingly random punch marks on the gears (I guess from previous owners).

    and just about every engine is different, the simplest are old american v8s.

    now an F1 could be interesting!

    plus 4cam variable timing can be a learning curve. lately new cars just change the complete engine , and dont screw around with stuff that may be over a tech guys head. its cheaper than a bent valve overhaul.
